Community Policing and Preventative Patrols
- Visible foot and vehicle patrols
- Escorts
- Be accessible and approachable to community members
- Educate the general public and school aged children through various programs (D.A.R.E.)
- Provide security and safety during various events and parades held within the City of Watertown
Respond to Calls for Assistance
- Respond to accidents, calls involving disputes, mental health incidents, and criminal or dangerous activity
- Accurately document all calls for service
- SRT Team and Crisis Negotiation Team able to mobilize and respond to critical incidents
**NOTE**
Some frequently requested services that are NOT provided by WPD (but may be provided by outside agencies, such as the Jefferson County Sheriff's Department) include, but are not limited to:
- Fingerprinting- conducted on Wednesdays by JCSO
- Drug drop off/take back program
