Overview

The City's 15 MGD Water Plant purifies and delivers more than 2 billion gallons of quality potable water each year. An average of 6.0 to 6.5 million gallons of water is processed daily for domestic and industrial use within the city of Watertown and by its neighbors in the surrounding towns.

A strong emphasis on maintenance training enables the staff to perform a majority of maintenance tasks required to keep the high tech equipment functioning properly. The goal of the Water Treatment Plant staff is to provide the highest quality potable water, meeting all federal and state standards, at a reasonable cost, and to properly maintain the plant, service the equipment and improve plant processes.

Our plant maintains a New York State accredited laboratory.

Approximately 45,000 people, residents, businesses, and industries in the city of Watertown, the towns of Watertown, Leray, Pamelia, and Champion, are served by the City of Watertown Water Plant are served by these facilities on a daily basis.
