General Questions
When are City Council Meetings held?

The first and third Monday of each month at 7:00 p.m.

If there is a holiday on that Monday, the Council Meeting will take place on the following day, Tuesday.

Where are the City Council Meetings held?

At City Hall on the third floor at 245 Washington Street, Watertown, NY 13601

When are City Council Work Sessions?

The second Monday of each month at 7:00 p.m.

If there is a holiday on that Monday, the Work Session will take place on the following day, Tuesday.

Work sessions are for open discussions of topics requested by the Mayor and City Council.

Additional work sessions may be scheduled at other dates and time, if necessary.

Can I speak at a Council Meeting?

Yes, there is a Privilege of the Floor held at the beginning of each Council Meeting (1st and 3rd Monday of each month at 7:00 p.m.) to allow the public to voice concerns. Work Sessions, however, do not have Privilege of the Floor.

A speaker’s time shall be limited to three (3) minutes, which may be extended, upon request of the speaker, at the Mayor’s discretion.
